Now in its third year, eGR Magazine’s hotly contested Game of the Year award is being sponsored by Odobo once again. The #shortlist was announced on Friday with the organisers making a point of acknowledging the high-calibre of #entries that have been received in their droves.
To win the #award, a #game must capture the essence of entertainment, be a shining example of what the industry has to offer in 2015 and really motivate players to spin reels or play a hand. Whatever its genre, it should enthral #players and bring in revenue because it’s fundamentally enjoyable to play. Each nomination is assessed using a combination of four core factors: how innovative is the game? What’s the marketing value? Is the production quality at the highest levels seen and, of course, how much income it generates.
The 2015 shortlist includes the enormously popular Jurassic Park brand, a classic Egyptian-themed slot from IGT and the quirky GEMiX from Play’n GO. Also in the mix is NetEnt’s Mexican-themed Spiñata Grande and Quickspin’s new take on Snow White, featuring unlockable tiles.
A total of seven games made the coveted shortlist and we very much look forward to presenting the worthy #winner with their award in London on Monday 23rd November. The full list of those in contention is below:
MegaJackpots Cleopatra (IGT)
Centurion (Inspired and William Hill)
