Singapore-based electronic casino games specialist Weike Gaming Technology (S) Pte Ltd has signed a deal that will see some of its slots titles available online this year via the open gaming platform of ONEworks™ Ltd.
ONEworks™, which has its technology and programming team based in Taiwan, develops sportsbook software services to gaming companies.
“Weike games have been integrated onto the ONEworks™ platforms and will go live with two player classic game titles,” the company said in a press release. The firm did not say in the statement which titles would be made available via the gaming platform.
But it said: “The titles from the Weike’s slot portfolio represent a specific targeting of various South East Asian markets where the games are extremely popular in land-based venues.”
Weike has had success in Asian casino markets with its Infinity X standalone slot cabinet. Popular games on the platform in Macau and Singapore include ‘Qin Shi Huang’, named and themed based on China’s first emperor. Another popular slot title is ‘The Landlord’ – or ‘Dou Di Zhu’ as it is known in pinyin – themed on a popular Chinese card game that translates as ‘Beat the landlord’.
Peter Kup-Ferroth, vice president for product marketing at Weike, said the agreement with ONEworks™ “is the perfect avenue for us to provide a transition of our popular games into the online environment”.
The deal, according to ONEworks™, forms part of a strategic initiative to partner with leading content providers to give access to “proven, premium, localised content, enriching its licensees’ offerings, and giving their members an even greater selection of titles”.
