At Return To Player, we aim to show you the best slot games and sites available online. To that end, we regularly cover the top titles on our featured casinos and we’re carrying on in that vein today, with our blog on the best Prospect Hall slots.
Starburst
We start with a bonafide classic, a game set in the far reaches of space. Starburst is one of those slots that you will have definitely seen if you’re a keen player; it’s a massive name in the industry and the reasons for its success are not hard to see. To start, the space-age visuals were stunning for when it first released and they still hold up today. Granted, there is no flashy cinematic introductions or explosive scenes, but the subtlety of the display works to its benefit.
It’s strange to think that a game with no standalone features could become so popular but, even though it may look a little light on bonuses, the one that is there can be hugely effective. It revolves around the Starburst Wild, which will appear on the second, third, and fourth reel. When one lands, it will expand to cover the whole reel. This will then lock in place before a re-spin ensues. If you land another wild, this function will repeat, and you could potentially end up with all three centre reels turning wild.
Narcos
This isn’t just one of our favourite Prospect Hall titles, it is one of the best games released all year. Based on the hit Netflix show of the same name, Narcos, it’s a crime-themed slot with one of the best-looking interfaces we’ve ever seen. It’s almost like a graphic novel, with cell-shaded illustrations that add a real sense of style. What’s especially cool about this game is that multiple characters from the show find themselves transported to the reels in exceptional detail. While there are many licensed games out there, we rarely see a property represented so well.
Of course, we know that it’s the bonus features you’re really concerned about, so let’s have a look at a few of those. To start, there is the Walking Wilds bonus, which will trigger whenever a wild is involved in a winning combination. The wild will move one row to the left on every spin, possibly making new wins as it does. Then there is the Drive-By bonus, which is randomly triggered. A group of animated gang members will show up and shoot the reels in a visually spectacular scene, after which, certain high-value symbols will turn wild. The next feature is called Locked-Up and will unlock once you have landed three scatter symbols in a single spin. This will take you to a new reel set, with only Locked-up symbols and Golden Briefcases, with these awarding coin prizes, multipliers and extra spins. To round off the features, we have a free spin round, which will trigger once three Car scatters have landed. You’ll receive ten free spins with the Drive-By feature applied, plus any Walking Wilds will remain even after the round has ended.
Jumanji
Another game based on an existing property, this title swaps the neon-lit streets of Columbia for the vines and vegetation of the jungle. If you’ve never seen Jumanji, it’s a classic film about a board game that brings the animals and characters in it to life. It’s a great film, already having spawned a remake and a sequel, and I dare say NetEnt has managed to craft an equally great slot game here.
The biggest attraction of this slot is the Board Game bonus, which mirrors the Jumanji game from the original movie. To trigger it, you’ll have to land the scatter symbol three, four, or five times on the reels, for which you will receive six, seven, or eight dice rolls respectively. From this, you can trigger one of four free spin rounds or the Mystery feature, get extra dice rolls, or grab yourself some coin prizes. Each free spins mode will each have one of the randomly triggering applied. You could have several spins with extra wilds added or even guaranteed wins, so there is a lot of variety here. The Mystery feature can offer benefits for the spins, offer coin prizes equivalent to 2x to 10x your current stake, or give extra rolls on the Board Game.
Finn and the Swirly Spin
This game is quite different from most others on Prospect Hall, as it completely changes the conventional idea of how a reel set should function. It uses a 5×5 grid with 25-reel positions for symbols to fall in, and you form wins by landing horizontal or vertical lines of three or more. This leads us nicely into the first feature, which is the Avalanche Reels bonus. This will see any symbols involved in a winning combination blasted from the reels, before the ones above slot into the now-vacated positions. This can then create new wins immediately after the original, which may give a nice boost to your overall payout. What’s more, when you land any win involving a wild, it will explode even more symbols, which gives an even greater chance of forming another successful combination.
Of course, that’s far from the only bonus in this game, as there are four randomly triggering ones also included. The first of these is Starfall Wilds, which will add two to five wilds to the reels, and is followed by the Dragon Destroy that will blast several symbols to trigger the Avalanche. After that, there is the Irish Luck feature, which will award a one-line win of one identical symbol. Finally, there is the Magic Transform that can be a great help by changing low-value symbols into high-value ones. In addition to all of that you also get a four-free-spins mode, that you can trigger by landing a scatter symbol in the centre position. Each of them is linked to the randomly triggered features, so you essentially get an allocation of spins with one of the bonuses applied.
If you want to have a go on any of the titles we’ve covered here, head on over to Prospect Hall to find them.
