UK: OpenBet, the leading sportsbook and online gaming software provider, are pleased to announce that leading UK bookmaker Coral has selected to roll-out OpenBet’s new Bet-In-Play (BIP) Terminals, tablet-based application, which will give shop customers the same instantaneous betting opportunities that, to date, have only been available online.

OpenBet’s BIP Terminal is a software-only solution, delivered using the SiteBuilder platform. Designed for running on any self-service touchscreen tablet device, BIP enables cashless wagering on a range of betting opportunities available within the Coral retail shops.

Providing Coral with a seamless live betting offering in its retail estate, the BIP Terminals are linked up to the recently launched in-shop customer funds card, Coral Connect. With the ability to change the displayed content dynamically, OpenBet’s BIP Solution brings the power of online systems into the retail environment.

In addition to its ease of use and convenience for the shop customers, it enables Coral to offer them a wider range of bets, which were previously available over-the-counter, coupled with quick and efficient bet placements. Coral customers can be authenticated via a simple NFC (near-field communication) card and pin system.

OpenBet’s BIP Terminals is the first cashless in-play wagering application available on the UK high street in the Coral shops, and because it works without a cash mechanism, it means it has lower overheads compared to traditional self-service betting terminals.

Built within a short development timeframe, OpenBet’s BIP Solution gives Coral full control of their retail channel event diary by utilising OpenBet’s SiteBuilder product (gaming industry specific content management system). Coral will be able to choose which events and markets are made available to BIP Terminal customers via pre-built sportsbook pages.

Adrian Thompson, Group IT Director at Coral, said: “Coral is determined to ensure innovation across all channels whilst also providing our players with a seamless user experience, OpenBet’s work on the Coral Connect project together with the in-shop BIP solution allows us to do just that. Choosing OpenBet as our partner for this multi-channel project was an easy decision, with their market-leading sportsbook and expertise together with that of Coral’s, along with their unrivalled open platform to integrate seamlessly with third party systems, it has allowed us to continue to drive the business forward. This partnership demonstrates the value we place on our continuing partnership with OpenBet.”

Jeremy Thompson-Hill, Chief Executive Officer of OpenBet, said: “We are extremely pleased to be extending our longstanding partnership with Coral, following on from our work on Coral Connect, the BIP Terminal demonstrates our commitment to continuously develop and evolve to provide Coral, and all our other customers, a set of market-leading products that helps drive their business forward. The BIP Terminal truly brings live betting to the high street whilst offering a seamless bet in-play experience for retail.”
